Local Form Studio believes that mobility should drive urban form, and that the key to creating successful urban development is striking the right balance between placemaking and transportation systems. Our principled approach is rooted in our belief that urban design and transportation are inextricably linked, and to achieve urban design excellence, you must first lay the foundation for a functioning and sustainable transportation network.

Our ability to improve the relationship between communities and their mobility network is what sets us apart. Whether it is a network of local urban streets, boulevards, pedestrian streets, transit modes, or greenways, this mobility infrastructure provides the critical framework on which places are built. This framework should inspire and influence the siting of buildings, inform land use and density, and drive economic growth. It is through this lens that Local Form Studio approaches its projects.

How we work

Local Form Studio acts as prime, subconsultant, and advisor to its clients, partnering and working with private developers, public planning agencies, business improvement districts, state departments of transportation, micromobility companies, and non-profit organizations. We listen closely to our clients, action their agenda, and add value beyond immediate project objectives.
