Downtown New Rochelle Development Study
New Rochelle, NY


This study involved a comprehensive planning analysis and evaluation of development potential for several underutilized and city-owned parcels within a quarter-mile of the New Rochelle Metro-North train station. This proect, among others, helped guide New Rochelle’s recent downtown development boom that began after RXR Realty entered into a master developer agreement in 2015 for TOD with the City.

Role
Local Form Studio’s Christopher Riale identified appropriate future land uses and building massing for several sites, and created schematic site plans and 3D visualizations that illustrate development potential. Chris also drafted urban design recommendations and an Request for Qualifications document for the New Rochelle Department of Development to solicit prospective developers.
