North Haven Livability & Walkability Plan

This plan guides the future development in around North Haven’s new train station and enhances connections between the station and surrounding neighborhoods.

A new passenger rail station is planned for the Town of North Haven along the future Hartford Line as part of the New Haven – Hartford – Springfield (NHHS) Rail Program. A new rail station in this location presents a unique opportunity for North Haven to re-envision the surrounding area, promote new mixed-use development, and enhance pedestrian and vehicular connectivity to and from the station area.

Role
Local Form Studio’s Christopher Riale led the development of the plan, which will guide future development in the Study Area and enhance the connections between the proposed North Haven Station and the surrounding neighborhoods. To achieve this, the plan recommends a series of streetscape improvements and land use and regulatory reform strategies to better position the station area for transit-oriented development and a pedestrian-friendly public realm.

* Work completed by Christopher Riale while employed with WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.
